we're all going to be seeing a lot less hogs next year if we don't get some rain. all the hogs we've been killing look like they haven't eaten in about 6 months. reall skinny and depressing looking.

I still say a tropical depression or remnants of a Pacific hurricane need to dump a bunch of rain in South Texas pretty quick.

If the hogs look bad, how much worse do you suppose the deer and cattle are looking?

Sad to think about it.

Nice one!
The ones we shot three weeks ago had no fat reserves compared to usual----body length was good but no girth ---muscle mass not there.
Two of the boars had what I considered to have the biggest tusks I had seen. Maybe the jowl fat has receeded exposing them more.
Got Fleas????

congrats, Lee

The fleas are beyond out of control. Must have something to do with the dry weather.

Our landowner explains it like this: too dry, too little mud to wallow in to cake up and dry and carry the fleas away when rubbed off. Makes sense to me.

That's awsome! I saw the picture you sent with her holding a knife and figured you must have talked her into it. What did she think of it? Is she ready to give up the rifle and "stick" with a knife? Man, I can't even get Tina into bear hunting, you're lucky man.

Bryan must be getting into better shape to be able to outrun y'all. Big Grin Big Grin Has he started carrying a light or does he still try to grab'em in the dark thumb
