Indeed. Scriptus sent me this. I don't think a fist full of bow would be nearly as comforting as a fist full of .44 Magnum ...

Yikes!!!

Some of those were some big brutes with some serious cutters.

Several years ago I met a gentleman at a gun store that had recently been attacked by a large boar in NW Arkansas near where my family was living at the time. He lifted up his pant leg and showed us the huge gouge in his calf. He had other wounds on his arm and torso as well where he was trying to defend himself. The Boar ambushed him while he was walking near some heavy brush, took him off his feet and proceeded to attack him until his friends were able to get it off of him and shoot it.
Being that I was from out west and never been around wild boar this really had me and my brothers wanting to be armed to the teeth when out hiking around in the woods.

Went to a friend of mines funeral in March. Dogs had a hog caught in thicket, as the group closed in on the caught hog, the boar came from behind and hit my friend. Large deep gash on calf. Infection and problems healing, threw a blood clot which killed him.

Nothing new or surprising about that. Know of one local farmer who got off his tractor to snuff a wild pig. Buddies put the run on him and he had to retreat back into the vehicle . Distress call by one, will drive the rest of the herd into a frenzy.
