Kinda looks like you Texans have killed

all your pigs off. OR are you just taking a
vacation from it all?

We have been guiding Sandhill Crane hunts on the property to fund protein costs for the deer lease. The whitetail go through about $750 in protein every 3 weeks...and that is just 1 protein feeder.

So far I think we are at 280 birds for the 2021-22 season. Pretty good for a 3 month long season. Daily bag limit of 3. With 5 days left of the season and booked every day...we are hoping to finish at around 400+ birds this season.

The hogs and coyotes have been loving the gutpiles from all of these birds cleaned since the beginning of November

That's a lotta birds.

Any pictures?

Didn't know they wintered down in that area.

Good for you, glad you can get out and enjoy it
with paying hunters. That's much like having your cake and eating it twice.

Are you sure the hogs are not helping eat the pellets? Would take a big herd of deer to eat that much it seems to me.

The protein feeders are in fenced pens with the feed tubes a few feet off of the ground. It's impressive how much protein a handful of whitetail will go through once they get a taste for it tu2
