I was at my place this weekend. I decided to sit for hogs this morning for a variety of reasons . I went to a place that has some REALLY big hogs from time to time .

I got in the stand about 15 minutes before the feeder went off. As soon as the feeder went off, I saw two deer . After a few seconds, they took off . I knew the hogs were coming .

I was right . There were 3 big bar hogs that stepped out of the swamp. While big, there is one that is even bigger that had been hanging around there . I waited a few minutes to see if big boy showed . He didn’t. I decided to hammer the biggest one with my 30-06. Down he went straight away .


I took off to another area where a sounder has been hanging. Wind was perfect. I slipped in on them. I could see 9 of them.
I shot one that fell immediately. They scrambled around and I shot another. Both were sows about 80 pounds each.

I got both the sows on my golf cart . No problem. The bar was another story. I got my tractor to retrieve him. He bottomed out the 250 pound scales I have .

The image app is giving me grief . I will continue to try to post pictures.

80# sows? one for dinner tomorrow, one held in reserve?
