I have been watching a nice boar on my game camera for a few weeks, and I have been actively hunting him for about a week. I have spend several long nights in my blind, but tonight he made a fatal mistake.

I was hunting with my custom Encore with a 20" Match Grade Machine barrel (full bull with 8 flutes) chambered in 9.3x74R, and this was the first time to hunt with my Laser Genetics "imitation night vision" light mounted on my gun.

Here is the picture.

Well, I shot him in the left eye while he was looking at my light, and the labotamy seemed to cause his legs not to work. Cool

My 9.3x74 load is 68.5 grs H4831sc, CCI 250 primer, 285 gr PRVI bullet in virgin Norma brass. This load has proven to be a "one holer" load.

Nice work!

Clearly the "imitation night vision" works - the proof is in the pork! How like your set-up after field testing? Pros, cons?

The "set up" as a whole actually worked better than I had expected. The only thing I thought of after the fact is that I could have installed the pressure switch instead of having to manually turn the light off and on.

Guns that can shoot them in the eye are good.

I am still doing load development with the x74, and it appears not to be very finicky. So far, loads with H4831, H4350, and Varget have all grouped EXTREMELY well.
