For those that might be interested in selling the hogs you trap/shoot...there is a processor in Hubbard (South and West of Corsicana)in Navarro County. They are paying 40 cents per pound for head shot pigs (intestines and stomach removed) and 20 cents per pound for pigs shot anywhere else,but not gut shot. They are processing the pigs for dog food and are expanding the size of their facility. Good to get more people interested in hog hunting but unfortunately many are choosing to poach or shoot off of the road. Game warden caught two guys one one of my places today and with the assistance of two other game wardens is setting out a hog decoy tonight to catch road hunters. If your within driving distance of Hubbard, it might be worth the trip if you have 10 or 12 hogs.

Interesting concept but folks trapping them live and selling to buyers can make more money and they don't have to go to the trouble of gutting the things.

Ja, and I just gave away my cleaned and quartered, head shot boar because my freezers are full.
Oh well, it was good sport and the other hunter needed the meat.

I haven't sold any, but lots of people must be doing it. I don't know of any place around here that buys live hogs, but I do know the dead ones are a lot easier to load.

The guys that are trapping and selling them in this area have made trailers and loading ramps that are basically scaled down versions of what cattle raisers use.

The one exception is that the loading ramp's top is covered to kee[p the hogs from jumping out.
