I'm contemplating buying a Merkel K1 and I'm not sure what or who makes the mounts for those rifles and I was also curious about whether the ring are all 30mm or whether they can be had in 1 inch.

Thanks much for your time and best regards,

Bill

Mine came from the factory with 30 mm rings so I just bought a 30 mm scope.

My newest and at this moment most fav-0-rite Merkel k1

222 Remington!

loaded with 50 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips

hence the earhole trick shots!

It was a combo set.

Came with 222 Rem and 30-06 barrels, 1" and 30 mm rings.

Have not fired the 30-06 barrel yet.

ya!

Food for thought.
My K1's design is preferred over my K3. Nicer forearm release and scope mounts.

I too prefer the Recknagel twist mounts to the Blaser style saddle mounts.

However......

this K3 Extrem is mighty sweet!

I think I have of those extreme jobs. Let me check. Yep, there it is. Love the feel of this rifle, so well balanced. Not 'barrel heavy' in the least.

I don't know if Bill the OP is still watching this thread. But, one caveat about the K1 scope mounts is the fine adjustment screw on the inside of the rear mount. It must be snugged up nice and tight with no play.
Great gun.

Thanks much. I am still watching this thread and I appreciate the tip. German engineering is always an interesting topic and it is nice to know the little inside stories.

Best regards,

Bill
