Went to my "beer lease" to enjoy being afield and have our annual rendezvous with several farts who have gotten old over the last 19 years hunting together.

Suffice it to say, we ate like kings and drank like the homeless. I did manage to perforate a hoglet in between the festivities.

He came out about 6:10 PM, which was about 10 minutes after the feeder went off. We've had so much rain there that the grass in places is hip high. It's just about that way in front of my feeder and I was sitting in a ground blind. Had to wait till I could get a clear sight picture and hope that he did not decide to dart just before my brain said squeeze and my trigger finger did just that. Hit him a bit back but, but he did manage to bite the rock you see in his mouth before he expired. He was DRT. No tracking. Nailed him at +/- 90 yds, 270 Winchester and 130 gr. Nosler Accubond. Sat out a couple of other times but deer nor hogs seemed to be moving much this weekend.

ya!

Nice looking pig; and I agree, not much activity from the deer or hog population in my neck of the woods either. On a positive note the few I saw looked fat and sassy.

We had 5 hunters in this weekend, ended up getting 3 decent bucks and 2 oinkers.

It is still muddy in all of the pastures we hunt so it was difficult to get to some spots.

I've been at my "beer lease" which is near Reagan wells, some 20 miles north of Uvalde off SH-83, eight of the last 14 days. Had eight snares set out and hunted on a half dozen sets. I have seen hogs twice and only had two snares tripped. The hogs do not seem to be moving!

Well,

make that three hoglets.

Forgot about this lil' porker I perforated a week ago Saturday with the Nosler Patriot in 7mm-08

High grass, ground shrinkage, what can I say, he made the mistake of showing up with some of his buds when I had a rifle at my disposal!

Good stuff GW. We where at my place from Friday 'till Tuesday morning. Not much at all moving......too much to eat and water everywhere. You ain't kidding about the grass! I didn't know grass could get that high in the Hill Country! But with over 22" of rain in the last three months.......

My boss sent me a picture today of a hog that was killed on one of the properties he manages and the folks on that property weighed it and it came in at 366 pounds.

I wish I had the ability to post it.

During my route today I saw in excess of 50 hogs and that was beteween 2:00 pm. and 5:00 pm.

Glad someone is seeing stuff to perforate. Live oak acorns are still so thick nothing is coming to the feeders. Nice pigs!

Nice! I would have had to smoke 2 cigarettes after a kill like that instead of just one.

Hope that guy spreads his seeds far and wide around there so you'll have hogs to punch holes in for a long time.

Hope you get that one.

Randall: hey man, you've GOTTA get a copy of that picture posted here somehow.
