Well, this is 2 nights after I shot that last boar---I've had the small one on camera before but couldn't see what was wrong with him---looks like he was shot in the left ham and can't/won't put that leg down. He does get around OK though. His daddy needs to go soonest--but I don't plan on letting him get away.

Here's big mama from my bowhunting place--she will contribute to a target-rich environment soon.

dustofferWell, since I spent all my hog bounty cash on the thermal scanner, I guess I'll just have to settle for a loud 5.56mm.

georgeldThat cripple needs to be relieved
of his pains and problems. Looks
stunted from it too. Amazing what
animals can survive. I watched an
elk calf running with a herd of
about 200 head and kept up. Front
leg swinging loose. Calf was on the
near side of the herd and I'd filled
my tag so really couldn't shoot.
Any more sightings of that big boar?
He show on camera again?
Make pork out of 'em!

Use a long barreled big more with a cast bullet about 900 fps and a bloop tube and it well be very quite.

dustofferGeorge--I've killed three at this spot so far this year--a big sow, and two boars, and this is boar #3 to show up. I've got commitments next 3 nights but Monday I'll be up and after him.
Speaking of cripple dispatch, I was in my bow stand 5-6 yrs ago when a small buck came staggering in. One foreleg/shoulder had a large, hand-sized wound. It was the Monday following youth weekend which precedes opening of the general/gun season here in Tx and most likely was the recipient of a bad shot. The deer could barely get into the feed pen and I immediately got set and when he presented the right shot I released the arrow which hit right. You would not have believed the deer was injured the way he left the pen, but only made it about 30 yds before getting the staggers and falling dead. And, time flies when you are having fun---it was actually in 2010. Here's the wound:

Live OakA number of years ago I had a pig showing up at my place with three legs. Front one was gone and completely healed up. It did ok till it met one of my big bores! Very fat, as I remember.

dustofferWent for a sit last night--a deer and bunch of 'coons is all I saw although the pig parade across the fence went as usual.
I'll be back at 'em though---

Nice fur and fat too.
Amazing how it was balanced. The hunter
put it down after filming it several
minutes.
