Live OakBeen a dry spell!
It's not for trying! I have been out a number of times but no pigs when I was sitting. It was a drizzly and muddy night. Thinking that with the heavy clothes and wet it would down my scent! Sitting in my "bird cage" it seemed like the north wet wind was blowing right in my ear! My glasses were getting misted up on a regular basis. The north wind was blowing some far away neighbors cussing, making it sound like they were in the pasture with me! A little before 10 I heard a grunt and saw them coming into the light. I think this multi colored sow was the start of the sounder so I picked her out. Squished the trigger and click! Worked the bolt and the bullet was still in the case, so slid in another. This time she went bang and the sow hit the ground! 375 Ruger, 154# sow. I don't know, looked like the firing pin just hit weak. Took the round apart and the prime fired well the second time. Cleaned the bolt and relubed.

georgeldDead pig, that's what counts.
Glad you got it figured out.
Duds happen to the best of us
sometimes.

Bobby TomekNice! I figured I'd put the howling wind to my advantage yesterday and put out a few ounces of coyote urine just before dark. Checked outside around 9 -- nothing. Checked again around 10:30 and took a nice female coyote, the 3rd one this month.
