Since we got a few showers today and the high didn't break 100, decided I'd try another sit. Got to my spot at 7:15 and baited heavily, and then settled in. Read for a while, watched deer, 11 gobblers/jakes then a bunch of hens, then a bunch of deer which I ran off before they could eat all the corn. Finally, about 10 or so the "alarm" (flash on the camera) went off and I put the binocs on the feeder--saw a medium-large pig so got the rifle up and ready, but my lights were dimmer than usual--probably because it was cloudy today and the batteries didn't charge up fully. Finally gave me a shot and bang, then the return whop. 177 lb boar and the swelling on the neck is internal bleeding I think. Since my custodian at church is no longer accepting pigs, this boar got dragged back to the back of the pasture and split open to feed the 'yotes and buzzards.
