Details listed on the photo, but the ol' 30-30 again proves its worth with picture-perfect performance. The internal damage from the Accubond was impressive, with significant damage to the plumbing above the heart and the front-third of both lungs. Although I wiped the hog and even touched up the photo a bit, you can still see where the bullet entered on the shoulder as just a tinge of the red remains. It exited in virtually the same spot on the other side, leaving a quarter-sized hole in its wake. No flies on that rig or load. Another job well done Bobby. Even the rocks don't last forever.

Job well done X2. Have no hogs this far north of the Mason/Dixon line. Guess it is fun to live vicariously when you don't have that kind of meat running through the countryside.

Started my hunting with the "thuty thuty" more decades back than I care to admit, so it's no surprise to me that the cartridge is still effective. Nice shot Bobby, as always. "For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind..." Hosea 8:7

I picked up a Contender 30-30 barrel that has been cut to 21 inches and now I am trying to decide between laminated or solid walnut stockset. Rifle will be used by the grandkids so it won't be a thumbhole buttstock. One is left handed the other right handed. The scope will be a 2x7 Leupold. I'll bet the first animal taken with it will be a feral hog.

Haus of Arms will have both of those in the Revolution brand, and you'll have it a couple days after ordering. I believe they have some youth versions as well. www.hausofarms.com Be sure you post some pictures after you get it up and running. Hopefully your grandkids can put it to use soon! Bobby, I was going to ask you if you had tried the 125gr, .308 accubonds! You sure answered that question! Looks like they work great on hogs! I got a box of the 125 ABs and will certainly try them in my 308 encore pistol. Bet they will work fine on deer and hogs if I do my part. Z

Not sure if you saw this. It's from a recent hog taken with the .300 Savage. 167 yards. here is the recovered Accubond. Ahead of a book-minimum charge of Varget, it leaves the muzzle of the 24" .300 Savage barrel at 2740 fps. It entered about 1/2" from the left eye, coursed through the brain and neck (due to angle/incline only encountered a small bit of vertebrae), ranged to and through the chest and lodged low in hog's side in the 3rd to last rib. It had broken through that rib but could not quite make it beyond there. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

Have their page bookmarked at the solid walnut version. The kids are only 12 and 13 years old and growing up fast. Wish the electronic device curse had never been put upon us. A true waste of minds.

I agree completely. I consider it a curse as well. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri
