Juan, Came across this post and had to comment on your dog. Had one that looked just like it for 17 years. Stirred up some great memories from a long time ago. Best dog I ever owned. That dog went everywhere with me and was a great protector. She loved to go fishing, flush pheasants, raised a jaguar and mountain lion kittens, held a unarmed burglar at bay until the police arrived. Did I mention what a great dog she was? I enjoyed your post regarding the knife hunt. I stalk hunt javies with a 40# Bear recurve with wood arrows. That is my most favorite hunt next to turkey hunting! Got the sow below on opening day. Just got into my area and came across her group. Shot her on a run at 35 yards, double lunged her. She didn't go far! She was a nice 40# sow. Thanks for stirring up some good memories. Kindest Regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Mary. Would love to meet you some day and talk about your Dogo. I have hunted now with Juan several times and his dogs are wonderful. Mild mannered around the house; always a welcoming for me when I arrive, and in the field, unbeatable. Who do you work for in Phoenix, or do you work alone. If ever in Pinetop.......369-1651 I return to Argentina in April for about 5 weeks this time. If you could ever get down there to hunt with my amigo you would truly enjoy it. He and his partner and guides are the best. Congratulations on your Javelina with the bow. When I was a bit younger I hunted them every year - when drawn - with my handgun. Have put in for the HAM hunt this coming season in Unit 33, and if drawn will do my best with a couple of pals. "When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all." Theodore Roosevelt

Bill, We would love to get together with you sometime. My husband and I are both taxidermists and own our own business', he 23 yrs. and me 20 yrs. He has Krueger's Creations Taxidermy and I specialize in rugmaking and rug restoration on a nationwide level, Mary's Rugmaking. Did full taxidermy for a few years but when the babies were born it was easier to specialize in one field and to devote my time to my girls. We help each other out in each others shops. It works very well for us. Juan sounds like a good man from what I have read and quite a successful hunter to boot! I raised American bull dogs for years when I was younger and well into my 30's. They are a loyal, loving, get the job done breed. We drew archery tags in 30A. If you and your buddies are successful and are in need of any taxidermy work, give us a call. Chris has done work for Dick Cabela's private collection and several mounts for the Smithsonian Institute, so it would be a mount you would be proud to display, guaranteed! His work and brochures can be found at all of the Sportsman Warehouse's in Phoenix proper or simply request for us to mail you one. Love the Pinetop area. We get up there occasionally to hunt Abert's. We do our elk and bear hunting on the Rim. You know how it is when you get a favorite spot. Stayed in the North Phoenix area to provide the girls with the best education available before they head off to college. Has served us well as our oldest is in her first year at a small Liberal Arts College in the midwest founded in 1842, with a half ride tuition scholarship. The youngest is following in her footsteps..looking hopefull for a full ride to Notre Dame for her. Then we can head up into the woods to reside! Good luck on your hunt, Bill! Will keep in touch. Kindest Regards to you, Mary halflingrugger@cox.net Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Tell me where your shop is and next time I'm down that way I'll stop by. Abert's closed this past Sunday and I did not get as many as I would have liked to have had. Six days mule deer hunting in 3C with no success. If you like to turkey hunt keep that unit in mind. I saw between 2 and 3 flocks every day. Getting ready now for my cow elk hunt in 3B in two weeks. Do you every go to the SCI convention in Reno? "When you play, play hard; when you work, don't play at all." Theodore Roosevelt

Bill, Will PM you with the info on where our shop/home is. Looking forward to meeting with you and sharing hunting stories. My husband, Chris, had a bear tag in 3C a few years back and we had noticed quite a bit of turkeys in there also. Chris' work is displayed by 2 Outfitters at the SCI convention. He is an official scorer for SCI. We have many wonderful clients who are SCI members. We are in the process of moving into a large building, once settled in we will be more active with SCI. We have outgrown the space we work in and will better serve our clients needs in a larger facility. Will be in touch soon....Mary Juan, So glad you enjoyed my pictures. I was in Veterinary medicine for 14 years before I got involved with taxidermy and these dogs were a very important part of my life for 17 years. I had bred, showed and rescued many dogs from death and abandonment. These American (pit)bulldogs were the bravest, loyal, loving and most intelligent dogs I had worked with. I,like yourself, love and repsect good dogs. Please enjoy the photos below and I will get back to you, in the near future, with history on these dogs and some of the exciting stories of my life with them. Thank you kindly for your offer for us to come hunt with you and your dogs. I think that will be a fine adventure to look forward to in the future. Kindest Regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Thank you Guillermo. Yes, a jaguar. While I was in Veterinary medicine I befriended a wonderful man who raised big cats. We became good friends and I helped him raise many of the young cats. I helped raised "Billy" until he was 5 months old and to large to keep in my home. He then went back to the cat compound. I would get many peculiar looks as I drove in town with 2 pit bull dogs and a jaguar in my car. Many people would look frightened and roll their windows up as my animals looked out of my car windows at them. Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Mrs. Krueger, What kind of rugs do you specialize in?? I am in Iraq and have had access to many Persian, Turkish and other rugs. I dont know a thing about them but they are beautuful. Juan, So glad your Rhody pulled through her parvo virus. That is a nasty virus that has taken the life of many young dogs. I am sure your medical knowledge and quick treatment helped save her life. Maybe some day we will meet and hunt with her. My husband and I viewed your website and were very impressed with the variety of animals available to hunt and plan to some day come to your ranch. You have a beautiful family and it was nice to see them in many of the pictures. I am glad you, your wife and Marcos enjoyed the pictures. A few more photos for all to enjoy: Billy and Mary Billy and his owner..a very deep bond of love and respect Kindest regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker
