A couple nights ago.
Sent me a picture by text.

Guess he hasn't felt good enough
yet to get it posted. Hope he does soon.
Looked like a full grown piggy. Said he
recovered the slug.

Wonder how many Bobby had taken over the years. He has to have quite a respectable pile of mushrooms down there. He should be on a bullet pro staff for one of the big companies. Love his writings and pictures.

God Bless, Louis

Thanks, George! Yea, I haven't been on the forum much lately other than recently selling some bullets in the classifieds.

I got a nice sow Thursday night using my Contender in 6.5 Bullberry (6.5x30-30). From the 24" barrel, the 123 grain Hornady SST does 2536 fps.

Anyway...

Some details: I spooked about a small hog near the yard fence last night, and he apparently had company in a nearby slough. By the time I picked them up in the Meopta R2 2-12x50, they were headed for the creek and away from me. I picked what I thought was the largest and began to follow it. In a split-second, it veered a bit left and gave me a quartering-away shot from about 120 yards.

The 123 grain SST entered on the last rib and drove all the way to and through the opposite shoulder. The core and jacket did separate, but both were found within an inch of each other and just under the hide.

The hog went 18-20 yards after the impact before folding.

Louis-thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. A couple of years ago, I hit the 500 mark with hogs. Most of those were taken with single shot rifles. I can't get out and hunt anymore, so my numbers have been stagnant for a number of years now. But I still try and snipe an occasional porker from the house when they cooperate and when my health allows me to.

Thanks again, George...

Bobby

Bobby:

Looks like her belly is full.
Did you open her up to count the pups?

Head looks different from what you've
been showing us. A new breed, or just
the camera angle as Saeed claims?

Good to see you're still able now and
then. Stay on top pard. And thanks for
sharing the pre post pics by text.

Are those lights still working?

George

Oddly handsome sow, Bobby. Glad you are still putting that Bulberry to work!
