Does anyone have a reference to get info about the damage done to wildlife from all the fires? Hopefully it did get a lot of feral hogs.

I haven't heard anything here in Texas, but I would be shocked if much or any wildlife was affected other than their habitat being burned.

From what I have heard, the drought may have hit the pigs harder than the fires.

Both bad news for the state, regardless of what happens to the pigs.

From Texas Forestry Service, Sept 17, 2011:

quote:
Since fire season began on Nov. 15, 2010, Texas Forest Service and area fire departments have responded to 22,602 fires that have burned 3,761,966 acres.

If anyone cares to stay updated, here is a daily sitrep from TFS, fortunately with the cooler weather fires should be a bit easier to contain:

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.
