I will guess 7x57 or 7x57R although he seems to have some difficulty finding the rimmed ammo.

This is just a wild assed guess on my part.

I'm financially embarrassed at the moment otherwise I'd have been on this one like "white on rice"

No, no 7X57. I wish. Great guess, spot on. Couldn't find one. Actually, I couldn't find one in any caliber on all sites. Then a good friend found me two N.I.B. in '06. This had great wood, so the minute I saw the pictures, I had to pounce on it.

It's an '06 and I got some Federal Premiums loaded up with 165 and 180 Partitions to try out first.
Should be a keeper and thanks to you, Gdub, my wallet is a bit lighter. You got me warmed up on the Extreme with your posts and this wood sealed the deal. Can't wait to send a few downrange and drop something with it. Maybe a 300 pound tusk'r..............

About the 7X57R ammo. I gave up on the SST Hornady's. Been developing some loads and am very close to a decent load for the K-1. Found some new Norma cases. I'm good.

That's a beautiful rifle! Can't wait for the range report.

I saw that double quite a few times between here and elsewhere on the internet. Nice gun. Excellent caliber.
