jjbullTexas Hog Hunting Inquiry
I know a guy looking for a Texas Hog Hunt the week of January 1, 2013.
Currently he is looking hard at 2 places.
1)Dos Plumas Ranch
http://www.dosplumashuntingranch.com/about/ and
2) M.Y. Ranch
http://www.my-ranch.com/Do any of you have information on either place or can you help me steer him towards a reputable ranch for a guy on a very limited budget.
I am out of my element with these types of hunts so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

jeffeossoprices seem high -- but first time on a ranch is ALWAYS a crap shoot.. and usually worse

Ryan CampbellI like that MY ranch doesnt have Trophy fees etc. Seems like a fair deal.
The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.
I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

jeffeossoyeah, i wouldn't likely allow iron sighted full autos either -- oh, wait, he means cosmetic clone rifles - LMAO - the modern sporting rifle... wanna bet he would allow woodsmasters and bars?

jjbullThanks for pointing that out, Todd. I don't know if it really makes a difference to this guy but it sure would to me and I will reference your post to him.
Jeffeosso--Could you please recommend a ranch with more reasonable prices that would treat this guy OK or OK+? He wants to bring his wife along but neither needs pampering. I have shared a camp with them before and while neither require luxury, sanitary is a necessity.
Thanks.

larrysOf the two, the M.Y. appears to be mainly group only oriented. Yes, they will accommodate smaller, but that may be tougher. The Dos Plumas would be my choice. I could not care any more about the "assault weapon" statement than if they had said that they only allowed traditional muzzleloaders or recurve bows. Not an issue with me.
