On the riverbottom where we hunt the shots are close, my longest one has been about 90 yards, closest one about 6 feet. I have a 3-9 vxII on my 30-06, an old Weaver k-6 on my 22 mag., open iron sights on my 1894 357 mag Marlin and 1895 45-70, and a Williams reciever sight on my Marlin 336 30-30, (can you tell I like Marlins?) In the brush the 3-9 is set on 3x.
