Here is a little video I did of my first pig. It was a 225 pound boar, shot with a Sauer 202 Highland in 8x57 Mauser at 158 yards.

Those aren't "good tusks", they are great! Congrats and welcome to hog hunting!

How about telling us where you were hunting and how?

Here is a little update, I took the hams to a local place, and had them cured and sliced. I picked them up today, when I got home, I thawed out a small end piece, and made a sandwich. I found it to be tender with a very good flavor.

Ron:
Great post and fine looking ham.
May I ask the cost and time it took to have them cured? I've been thinking along the same idea's for whenever I get a chance to go.

Thanks much,
George

In Missouri we are blessed with several good meat places, this one ground and packed two boned out deer, the pig shoulders, and cured the hams for 59.00.
