I guide for one of the outfits in the NT of Australia & we get a lot of Big Hogs to go with our Buffalo hunting
Have a few on the computer, but most of my photos are not the best as I'm in a hurry with my camera & take the good pic's with the hunters camera (I hope any way) this last season I had a few wives hunting with me so they took some photos with my camera so thought I would share a couple.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Are your hogs consistently the same solid black color, or do they vary quite a bit?

In our WAY out wilderness Buffalo area all black as far as I can remember, strangely 18 years ago there were
No pigs to be seen out there, there are no Ranchers or farms for hundreds of miles there, these pigs are Ultra Vicious as they are harassed by Dingo's all the time & nearly every pig shows signs of attack, never see a small sow (unless with her Mum) most are bigger than the Boars .

In our other are (still Outback, but on Ranch country) we get some colours & different body types .

I will put a couple up later if I get time, one was a Monster with a white saddle around it's body.

Heres the coloured one, this boar & the one it was fighting were both Huge boars & the photo does not do them justice, we had shot a Stallion & put it at a bait site that day & were checking it in the moonlight, shot a large boar on the track on the way in, then ran down to the bait, all this happened very fast, no pigs just some dust & the Stallion look like a Lion had torn its back end off !

Heard some boars fighting so ran to the noise, two huge boars spinning around fighting giving it to each other & another watching, I put the touch on but could see nothing because of the dust, turned it off & said shoot the biggest first, well the 338Win went off heard the smack & that Boar just went harder, shot the other Boar & he ran off, shot the watching Boar to, shot the black & white Boar again then ran after the second shot Boar, caught up & stuck him !

Those wounds on his throat are from the black & white Boar, one might be a knife wound, I was so hyped I forgot to take photos that night & these ones aren't up to it really (stiff, heavy & ant covered) !

Thank you, well I would have over a dozen more but gets a bit Boaring Big Grin just seeing dead pigs all the time, all look the same after a while ?

Don't think this is the right place for Buff photos, have tons of those & I'm back off to work up there in the next few days, I think at this stage .

We have concessions near Katherine (3 hours out) & Nhulunbuy (3-4 hours out but long way from any where else)

Ok one last on for a while, we shot this guy early in the morning while going to get a horse we shot the night before & move it to a good bait site, well this big old fella was already there with a mate starting their own bait, see how he had ripped the but open to start eating, the little guy with him was standing way off !

Ok 1 or 2 Buff !

And these guys are always waiting !!

Looking at 20 mi W of Katherine on Google Earth the other night where the dirt roads are double, separated. I do believe I see some animals crossing the roads. Focus wasn't very good, maybe I just didn't wait long enough for it to clear up. but, those are animals of some kind for sure. Possibly buff's as a couple of them cover the full width of the track.

Just had to come back and take a look at those monsters again. Thanks Sarg!!

George

Thanks Sarg:
Shall be looking fwd to it IF we can get there.
Don't look like the back doc is gonna get me fixed up very soon. Month to the next appt. Think I'll have the other shoulder replaced in the meantime. Just as well get that done while waiting. That's my shooting shoulder so it needs to be good to shoot this .358U/M I'm having built. Expect it to kick back. Though am having everything done to tame it other than a brake that I don't believe in. Value what little hearing I have left.

Hope you guys have a great hunt, looking fwd to seeing the pics.
George
