these images were taken by my hog trap. This object first appeared on Feb 14. I have heard many suggestions as to what it may be. Anyone have a guess?

With wing movement---looks like it is a BAT.

I'd say its either a bird or large flying insect.

Might be a ghost.

An insect like a moth. Reminds one of the videos of the mysterious flying creatures no one could see but showed up on film.

I am sure it is some kind of flying insect, but, when I first saw the images, I knew I needed mo bigga rifle. I have about 25-30 images of the thing, all over and around the trap. My granddaughter told me it looks like one of those sea creatures you see on documentaries. I have one of it and a three eyed raccoon, that will make you get bug eyed.
The best answer I have gotten is that it was a frat bot streaking by going to a toga party.

You may have hit the nail on the head with that call. I followed the link and I can’t help but think that that is probably what it is. Other than the fact there are no lights within a mile to draw moths in, I have always felt like that was what it was. The only thing was that when it showed up in February, there were not any other insects out. After seeing the images on the link, I believe that is what it may be. Thanks.

I get them all the time on my IR camera. I always assumed it was a moth or other flying creature. I have steady IR lights on for hog shooting with a night scope. Maybe they are attracted by IR?

I never knew IR lens stays red and lit up all the time until putting up these IR cam's for the surv system. Sure caught me off guard the first night I happened to see one glowing.
You guys that run the IR trail cams, do they stay on like that too? IF so, what's your battery life like?

The trail camera I use does not stay on all the time. I have pulled up by it at night while out looking for pigs and watch the round rows of lights turn on red while it captures an image of the vehicle. They do not stay on all the time. By the way, is CF&I still in operation?

I have a battery powered IR light that is seperate from the IR flash on the camera. Since I hunt one spot, it serves me better than a flashlight size IR illuminator.

I was told by a friend that the small solar powered sidewalk lights work well to illuminate the area around a feeder for night pig hunting. I know that they do not spook game otherwise the coyotes would not be crapping in the drive up to the house.

Your not going to believe this...but,it is an image produced by the camera or lenses ....there was a TV show years ago that was trying to explain the "Rods" that were flying thru the Video camera footage ...it was later explained that these images were not caught on a "Film" type camera ....otherwise you have a flying object that flies in a spiral pattern like a rocket .....or you'd bett call Ghostbusters !
