Yep I sometimes hunt without dogs. Not my favorite way of passing time but fun enough. My Son-in-law had some cattle feed that went sour on him and asked me where to deposit it to facilitate some hog hunting. I told him where I wanted it and there it is. This particular spot is in a small valley with a power line through it. The hills on either end are fairly steep. I put me a chair on one of the hills putting the feed at about 100 yds. and 150 yds.

I was set up at 6:45 pm. It was not terribly hot, but terribly humid. I was nursing a canteen of water at about 7 pm when a reddish hog stepped out at the 100 yds. pile. I crossed my knee and placed my arm resting near my knee cap with the foream of my Win. Model 88 in my hand. At the shot the hog was in the bushes which were just a few yds. away. No indication of a hit, I was disappointed I hadn't put him down. Waited a bit to see if others would join the party, but finally I couldn't take it anymore and I did a look see. I found blood right away, a good bit of it. It appeared to be lung blood so I knew it hadn't gone far. The thicket was covered in what I call razor-wire vines, heavy, painful stuff. Blood started to fade but found him in about 30 yds.

A young boar about 130 lbs.

Well done! And nice shot placement from a less-than-perfect rest, too. Those type of shots can be tough.

Nice shooting by my neighbor across the Sabine. Good to see a dead hog.

When I saw the title the way you stated it, my first response was going to be, "You Do And You Will Clean It Up"!

I grew up one county over from the border. Shreveport was the closest big city when I was kid.

My step-dad was a Texan from Sweeny. He learned to speak french, but it always sounded a bit funny coming from his mouth.

Northern Louisiana and east Texas are very similar, south Louisiana is a world unto itself.

That is very true, I use to work with a guy from Feriday, La. We had a heck of a time communicating in English, lots of huhs and whats, but it was fun. We laughed our heads off.
