Boar was shot in Turkey in July 2005 - it is a national record weigh 355kg, tusks 26cm - it was shot with .300 cal...: http://www.chassons.com/news/chassons/mag/archives/1205/chass_et.htm ...what is unusual (beside the size) its the length of the upper tusks - usualy they are much shorter.

My son 9 shot a hog just like that, only way smaller but it was nice to see his face when he dropped his first animal. I love taking kids shooting!!

I would NOT want to be out on an evening stroll in the forest and find that critter on the path in front of me, outside of the hunting season. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Two points . . . 1. That obviously appears to be two separate hogs. . . 2. I agree that they are big, but the gentleman is sitting a ways behind the hogs, making them look even bigger than they really are. Just my $ .02. JDS And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. Both pictures are photo shoped! Look at the difference in the vegitation beneath the pig, and the surrounding area. If you look at the size of the ELM leaves in the top picture you will see the pig is most likely about a 300 lb boar, taken in the USA! All the vegitation sorounding the pig are species indiginous to the USA. The truck is also a left hand drive pickup, mostt likely in the USA, or Canada. The hog would have been a good trophy without the rediculous photo-shoping! ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith

Here's another pic - just to enjoy the pictures of a huge animal or animals. Don't lose sleep guys - it really makes no difference whether there are one, two or three different animals - or whether the pictures have been manipulated a little or whether it is in the USA or Turkey! (These dudes look very Turkish to me, by the way.) Just enjoy it for what it is nics pics of large animals ... Johan

Mac, You are dead wrong! The photos are not photoshoped. That I can assure you!The hunter on the photos happens to be a good friend of mine and I have seen those photos and the pig's tusks before. He also had them in display at "Expocaça", an annual Game Fair that takes place in Santarém (Portugal) beginning of May. He is a hunting agent and books quite a lot of hunts in Turkey. B.Martins P.S. - Just edited the post in order to add that those two photos are indeed of two different boars. What every gun needs, apart from calibre, is a good shot and hunter behind it. - José Pardal

Mr. Martins, rather than argue with you, and with your trust in your friend's truthfulness, I'll simply say I disagree, and I believe your friend is pulling your leg! Aside from the fact that the people in the pics are staying a bit too far behind to give us a real idea of how big they are, what's the problem? I can tell with some certainty that those are a couple of really big hogs. They are heavy bodied for sure. How big? I couldn't tell you as the people are too far from the hogs........ No photoshopping, Mr Martins is right. The first picture was all over the hunting magazines in France. The pictures seem to be of different boars, but it’s not possible to seat aside 2 different so big pigs during the same hunt. One can see that the right side of the pig had be worn off when it was winched. magazine 355 kg (740 lbs), tusks 26cm (>10 inches) shot by a Portuguese hunter in Kalkim Turkey. Reguardless of any BS, thats a big hog. It takes alot of head snd body mass on a hog to make the ears appear that small in comparison to the rest of the animal. I would be a proud hunter to take such a specimen. Rodney.
