Really weird night

Had a few pictures of pigs at my friend's place so I sat last night. The deer are just out and out persistent but last night tops it! They were standing there when the feeder went off as usual. The wind was out of the southeast moving from my left to right which is good my the tower. Up wind I heard what sounded like a sounder grunt and squeal. The next time I heard them they were right behind the feeder! The deer had not left! Waited, no pigs. I heard them again behind the feeder but further back. This time it sounded like a fight! A few minutes later a small black boar slipped in the feeder WITH THE DEER! Never have I seen them together in the feeder lights! Deer finally walked off and the pig started eating right behind the center post which protects the back feeder leg. He was safe so I waited to see if the other ones making all the noise showed up. A dark form silhouetted in front of the lights showed. It was a deer! Now it really got weird! It was like they were doing a shadow dance. The pig would move and the deer would be right in front of it so I could not shoot! This went on for ever! I was really getting frustrated! Finally they split and I hurried a shot. Reticle looked low behind the shoulder when it went off. Pig ran out the front of the feeder and to the right. Deer came right back! It was not even nine o'clock! Ok, I will sit unto nine thirty, it was a nice night, then I will go look. Deer left, corn had to be gone by now! A silhouette showed in front of the lights. Pointed ears and no neck, pig! I could see the pig well but not the reticle on the black pig. Turned on the lighted dot, now the pig was moving off. Touched one off and the pig went down but I could not see it. It jumped up and took off to the right. A full grown doe came back in the feeder pen! Unbelievable after two shots and pigs! I loaded up and drove the ATV down to the feeder got within 20 foot of the doe before she took off! No blood in either spot when a pig was standing! I found two spots with fire ants clumped up middle back on the left. Found one quarter size piece of meat right under the front fence next to the center post but no blood leading away. In the past they have run down three paths. Yes the deer and pigs have paths to my feeder! Rode the first one to the right about a hundred yards and saw black. Found one pig! I think I missed the first time and the pig came back as I could not find another. I hit it a little far back. 118.3 pounds 375 Ruger. Sorry for the long story!

LiveOak--doing a great job knocking them down---I need to do the same but my bow really whines when I pick up the rifle. Plus, the two coming to my usual feeder aren't showing until 2-3 in the morning and I'm not sitting that long.

Enjoyed reading about it. Animals do strange
things sometimes.

Sure is a black one this time.

Was it hit twice?

Only one entry and exit. It was low and far enough back it could have been the first shot. Pig was on the move for the second shot. I thought that one should have been higher and more forward. I did not have time the next day for a look around. It's been really dry around here, not much mud for a pig to roll around in. This one was glossy black!
