Being a gadget guy and a lover of photography I took the plunge a couple weeks ago. I availed myself of a GoPro Hero3 camera. I figured it would add another facet to my hunts and hunt photos. Here is my first attempt at uploading video clips to youtube.

My bud Bruce was with me when last at the lease. We had 8 snares set out IIRC. Here are short video clips of two of the hogs we snared. They are dispatched with either a rifle and or pistol. If that bothers you, don’t watch.

That's more fun than a grown man should have. Good job.

Good looking videos. Never have been very fond of snares. If set right by someone that knows what they are doing they work good.

If set wrong, to me they are too indiscriminant.

Looks like you all did a good job all the way round however. Thanks for sharing Geedubya. tu2 beer

Randall,

we've been snaring hogs here for several years.

You can tell where the hogs come through holes in the fence. Usually the holes are something that don't attract deer. Only thing we've caught in these snares so far is hogs. Coyote and fox don't seem to frequent the same paths as the hogs.

traps work pretty good also.

Between trapping, snaring and shooting, I keep us in pork.

Looks like you all have the system, either way down to a science. My hang up is similar to the one I have with .243's that I have been talking about down in the small bore topic area, I have seen snares used improperly, just like seeing folks use varmint bullets out of a .243 and got turned off to either.

A .243 with proper bullets is a hell of a good deer gun. A snare properly set is a damn good way to get pigs.

That might qualify as the understatement of the year!!! I think you could keep a few counties, a half-dozen sub-divisions and an Army or 2 "in pork." Big Grin

Keep up the good work, my friend!

Geedubya, looks like you attach the other end of the snare to the T-post. Is that right? I am going to try my hand at snaring some beavers this year.
