My next sit will be with my bow to see if I can thin this bunch. Probably should take the shotgun and buckshot, but the bow is more fun. My tripod is in the background, but not as close as it looks—it’s 18 yds from the feeder.

There's a trap about 35 yds to the right of the feeder pen--but more fun with gun or bow.

Well dang it—back out Sunday evening, boar showed up around 9, and I missed—-again. One more time and this thermal and AR10 will be history!

Have you tried another scope?
Usually thats where I find problems
rather than the gun.

george--the thing that puzzles me the most is that when I take out a target and shoot at it from the same position, with target where the hogs have been, I drill them in the spot. Now I am going to go out at night and do a test shoot--

What bullet/load are you using?

Bobby—shooting Remington 150-gr core locket—and they group just fine, whether off my rear-view mirror or off the shooting bench. I have also shot some Hornady 150 gr and they group well also.

I am convinced it is the “loose nut on the trigger —

I was asking about the load and wondering if maybe the bullet just wasn't doing the job and giving you any indication of a hit. But both of those are well-proven and quite lethal at the ranges you are shooting.

I am baffled. From what you have done in the past, I really don't think your shooting is the issue. I still believe something else is causing the issues.

I will try another AR with the thermal and see if that fixes things, and if it does, I'll be buying a new rifle. If not, I will buy a new thermal and stick on the AR10 and see--

Don't know what else to do. I guess I could mount the thermal on my M70 and try it that way--

I was just at my lease and got 8 pigs. 7 trapped and one shot. I'm at 31 pigs for the year. 59 total last year.

I hope you get your setup sorted.

What are you using for a rifle, thermal and mount?

I use a POF Revolution AR-308. I routinely swap between a Pulsar Thermion 2 Pro XP50 thermal in an ADM Recon mount and a Trijicon Credo HX 1-6 x 24 scope for daytime in a Larue mount. Return to zero has been spot on with both of those mounts.

I used a red paint pen to make a small red dot on the mount and adjacently on the receiver, so I put daytime scope on the rail in the exact same position each time.

I did the same with a white paint pen for the thermal mount.

I slightly prefer the LaRue mount, because the levers are easier to grasp.
