Great pictures! I couldn't help but notice your snake guards. Here in northwest Wyoming we are blessed with 0 poisonous snakes. When you get the chance post a short account of your hunts... rifle caliber, bait or spot and stock. Those are some supersize hogs, thanks for the post. Matt

That first pig, I was Spring Turkey hunting with a friend. We saw him feeding in a large opening about 400 yards away. I snuck up to about 150-200 yards and shot him behind the ear with a 22-250 with 45 grain hollow points by Winchester. He dropped. The next pig we had seen on Cuddeback cameras eating protein out of our protein feeders we have for deer. I snuck up over a hill one day and saw him eating our protein and shot him in the head with a 22-250 with 55 gr sp handloads. He dropped. The third, same thing. Seen pics of him eating protein late at night. We waited in a blind late until he showed up about 10:30 pm and took him with a spotlight (which is legal in Texas). Same 22-250 handloads. He dropped. The fourth one (the monster) I took back in 2003, before I had a good camera. My wife and I snuck over a hill and I started chunking rocks down in the draw underneath us. Two pigs ran out and stopped. My wife shot them both. After the shots, I heard something running behind us down in the bottom. I ran over to where I could see and this big boy was running out of the canyon quartering to the left. I shot once and missed, my second shot entered the guts on his left side. At that angle it continued to drive up into heart and lungs. He ran another 100 yards or so and expired in the bottom of this draw. He had 4 3/8" tusks. I shot him with a 25-06 with 117 gr Sierra BTSP handloads. The last pig, we used dogs to locate and bay and snuck in their with him to take him. I love hunting these guys!! Did yall notice on that first pig how hairy he was? Notice on all the others how they have much shorter hair. Do yall know why that first one is so hairy?

Good hogs. Are you currently at A&M? The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends. I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Wow, great hogs! Wish we had them up here in the NW. We've got some ferals in eastern Oregon , but they're hard to find. "Isn't it pretty to think so."

Atkinson, I have no idea what point you just tried to make.

Can't say for sure why some hogs are more hairy than others, but here's a pic of one of our more hairy ones--we named him "Corn-O-Matic" due to his habit of showing up about 10 minutes before the feeder would go off. One time, just after we had adjusted the feed time a bit later which made him early, he laid down in the road next to the feeder for a nap until the "dinner bell" did ring. Dustoffer, Your harry hog has more Russian/European blood..The ferel hogs are round little piggies, and not near as desirable.. Aggie, No point, just a little Texas humor, if it skipped over the top, it probably isn't worth repeating or explaining.... Those are some nice looking hogs, been a while since I've seen one as ugly or hairy as your first one. The only thing I like to see more than dead hogs lying on the ground is dead hogs lying in my grill. hnts4fun : I noticed you sad "0 poisonous snakes" does this mean you still have the non-venomous types? I never knew for sure but just figured that far North no snake could survive the winter.
