Checked the camera at my friend's place and had pigs! Two boars. A light colored and a black one. The lighter one must have been the dominate because they were never there at the same time. The smaller black showed up later also. My friend rotational grazes his pasture so he has grass! As I have mentioned some of it is really tall. A little after 9 the grass on the right side of the feeder pen looked odd! Put the binos up and saw a snout under the wire poking in for corn! He come right in. As he cleared feeder leg and posts I touched one off. It looked a little far back but I did not account for him slightly quartering to my left. He kicked up a cloud of dust leaving the pen to the left. I did see him turn back to the right behind the wire. Waited until ten in case the other one showed. No luck so I went to look. Fire ants strung out on the blood and blood on the feeder leg. I did find a small pile of ants behind the pen to the right. So I kind knew two ways to start looking. Walked then rode the ATV up a dry water way but nothing. Started looking passed the water way. Luckily the grass was not as tall. Stood on the ATV and shined around, drove shined, drove more shining. Spotted a odd gray hump in a low spot! Dead pig! He went maybe 50 yards. Had to take the ATV to the truck, truck to the feeder. Had my chain on the truck. Drug the pig to the feeder lights for pictures! I was sweated wet! 184.2 pounds, 375 Ruger. Shot was just as I saw it! I finally set the date and time on the camera!

Another good one...well done! We have spots badly in need of shredding, and you almost have to trip over a hog to find it if it gets into there. The last one only went 19-20 yards. Went to the spot I shot it at, scanned with the thermal and saw nothing. Drove 10 yards with the tractor -- nothing. Went about another 5 yards and picked up a faint signal in the tall Johnson grass. It was the hog. Without the thermal, I easily could have missed it and spent unnecessary time looking for it. One thing is for certain: if they run, it's always for the thickest stuff they can get in to. Had the same experience as Bobby with the thermal and thick vegetation— probably walked within 5 yds of one and never saw it until I walked in along the blood trail from the opposite direction. The thigh-high dove weed was just too thick. Too bad the hogs don’t like it as well as my corn. An old pilot, not a bold pilot, aka "the pig murdering fool"
