I have Decided i want a full body boar in my trophy room.
Do florida boars have the same look as a texas wild boar. (have shoulder mounted texas boar)
I have a trip to florida for deer an ducks, so i thought why not add a boar.
Thanks,

Woodsie, my buddy shot the hog below this weekend in North Carolina. It was on a preserve, but if a mount is what you are looking for, I would go there. I normally hunt at a free ranging outfit not far from where we were this last weekend, but sometimes I just need to kill something for testing purposes. I will post a report later today, but here it is:

+1 on what Whitworth sez.

If your goal is a whole body mount on a large boar, an operation such as they feature in NC would be the way to go. You could literally spend years hunting free range hogs and never luck into one of the size and quality of that one in the foregoing picture.

Exactly, Geedubya. I have hunted and killed many free ranging wild hogs and none like this one pictured. I've killed some good ones, but they are few and far between.

Woodsie, that was a feral hog. Not imported, but North Carolina born and bred.

I like hunting the big operations in Florida. Although not guarateed hunts the chances of being able to choose the perfect specimen are better. The bigger the boar the bigger the cost is usually the case.

I lived and hunted hogs in Florida as well. There was an outfit on Okeechobee that I visited a number of times that is no longer in business. I mainly hunted leases that belonged to friends. There are good hogs (for mounting) to be had. Take a look at L&R near Orlando -- I never hunted there but have heard good things about them. There are a whole bunch of outfitters around Lake Okeechobee.

Hoppy Kempfer of Osceola Outfitters can put you on plenty of FLA hogs. I've hunted w/him many times, I've always hunted smaller, tastier "meat hogs" and would have Hoppy call the dogs off when they bayed a big ol' stinky boar like you are after. You can feeder-hunt or spot-n-stalk (fun to do in the orange groves). Check him out on the web, you'll have a great time...

I've heard nothing but good things about Hoppy's outfit.

I would definitely hunt a preserve / game ranch if you are going after a trophy animal first try.

I have hunted hogs for a few years free range and can only think of 2 hogs that I would have really wanted shoulder mounted.

I have had a great time with every outfitter that I have been out with, so I am not associated with any one outfitter in particular. If you want a true Florida "Safari Style" hog hunt, try Everglades Adventures. Driving in hunting vehicles, glassing thousands of acres, stalking your hog on foot....and shooting off the sticks. Doesn't get much better than that.
Mark and Rita Hays run a great outfit.

Thanks,
Not a newby, just saw a cool full body feral hog mount. It wasnt a special boar, just a feral boar. Matter a fact, the bass pro in baltimore has two of them. Just feral boars.. I wish I got my texas boar mounted, but when I shot it I called my better half to see if I should full body it for my trophy room, but she and my three young children, were throwing up and sick the whole weekend I was gone, so I got shot down.SmilerSmiler
I am booked to hunt with huntsflorida.com for deer and ducks, so I thought why not add a boar Hog while I was there,'
Thanks,
WSmiler

Thanks, the goal for the duckhunt is to get a drake mottled Duck. Its one of the last 3 ducks I need for the North American Duck collection. There are 32 species and I have three left.
We will be trophy duck hunting at its finest.
