This big guy met me and my 357 S+W one cool morning in a Louisiana Swamp Bottom several years ago. He came running by as fast as a 350lb boar can go(not too terribly quick) and I busted him at 30 yards through the base of the neck with a 158grn JHP. His tusk are even more impressive in the skullmount displayed in my reloading room.

The most impressive cutters I've ever seen around here.

Ya'll have a Good One.

Heck of a hog and great cutters. If you get the chance, post a pix of the skull mount.
Here are pix of a boar I shot last August that has fair tusks.

yeah man, don't even cook or skin em. First drink about 6 or 8 shots of mescal (gotta be "with the worm"),cut you off about a 1" x 3" rectangle, cover the fur with habenero sauce and make sure that you swallow with the bristles pointing backward, that way they go down and come out easier. Cure what ails ya in a hurry

Those are some nice Tusk Geedubya, I've never seen a hog that small with tusk that large. Quite impressive.

To tell the truth, I'm glad we don't see many hogs anymore. It was fun hunting them, but the little bastards can tear up just about anything. The farmers have just about eliminated them in our area. If you see one while deer hunting, it will usually be a monster.

Good Luck,

AWESOME HOGS both of you very nice indeed.

Reloader- Here in Hawaii there are some areas with good genetics that produce nice tusk although the pigs dont get really big. I'll try posting a pic of a small boar with some nice tusk we caught. It weighed 100# and had 4 1/2" tusk sticking out the gums. Hope the pics shows up

Happy Holidays,
Dom

Ultramag,
Talk about beauty and the beast. The lady in the pix is a stunner, a keeper no doubt, and the hog she is showing off has some great cutters. Looks like you have it made.
Good hunting, merry christmas and a prosperous new year to you and yours.

Thanks for the kind words guys Smiler Yeah I think i'll keep this one Wink she's alright by me!

Reloader-Wish we had a couple 350# bruisers for the dogs to work on so we could grab it and stab it.

The biggest boar I ever stabbed was on the big island he weighed 385# dressed weight he was a bruiser, flew off the dogs like they were piss ants it was an awesome adrenaline rush going in there and grabbing and stabbing him.

Here's how we bring them home from the valleys we hunt.

Goodluck to all in 2008 hope its a great year for everyone.

Aloha,
Dom

Hello dom!

You should ride the pig out of the mountains and then stab it ! It may be easier on your back! Big Grin

Aloha Jus,

Thats pretty damn funny right there I had a good laugh on that one. It sure as hell would be way better on the back for sure. On the flats aint so bad its when you gotta walk through the rivers and up the steep slopes to get onto the ridgelines is what kills the back.

That boar on my back weighed only 142# but he sure felt like 300# by the time we got him out of the valley and back to the truck rotflmo

When they start getting over 150# or so then its a pretty tiring pack no doubt. Especially if you dont have much guys to rotate with. Ive packed a few over 180# and it get really slow going up them hills Big Grin

Aloha,
Dom

Guillermo,

I shot this hog in mid december but could not find him. Another hunter found him two weeks later and told me about him. the pictures really do not do justice to the hog. The cutters are about six inches long and as thick as your index finger. Once the critters have finished I will try to post better photos.

DITTO!! When I see all of these pics I just wanna run out and go hunting! I know lots of folks just kill smaller eatin' hogs, but man, how do you pass on something that big with so much ivory? The short answer is YOU DON'T! Someone has to keep the taxidermists in business!
