Been waiting nine months, but Sat. is the day. Finally getting to go on my first Texas hog/javelina hunt. We booked with a ranch, 27 miles northeast of Del Rio. Looking forward to giving my .30-30 handi rifle, and my .45-70 marlin guide gun a real workout. Gonna be a long drive[1350 miles from my backdoor to the ranch], but I don't care. Just looking forward to getting out of cold Indiana, for a week, and just doing some hunting! Wish me luck!

Just got back from my Texas hog hunt that was just south of Batesville Southwest of San Antonio. Drove down there from the Detroit area of MI. You should be in for a good Hunt and Great weather. When we pulled out of MI it was 2 degrees and when we got to Southern texas it was 75. Good Luck and have fun!

Folks there are so nice, you should have a great time! Hope you're shooting some cast in that 45-70.

Be sure to provide a recap of the week upon your return.
