Dan, I'd say these are "beautiful mounts", but the nature of the beast makes me say IMPRESSIVE instead! haha

Seriously, I really like the skull mount. Together with the really nice work on the regular mount, you have a quite a pair.

Congratulations!

Dan those are pretty cool. How long did it take to get your mounts done and back to the states?

The taxidermy on both about a year;

Skull and Bushpig were done in South Africa along with 2 impala,and blue wildebeest rug.

The warthog done in the US,shot in Namibia.

Overall pleased with SA stuff,needed a little TLC for SA stuff;

Going to touch up the eye work,and have a little drumming on one of the impalas chest.
I actually like the SA stuff,it's a little more "less perfect",and seems to be alittle more life like.Injected some hide paste with a 14 ga. needle for the impala and its fine.

The SA stuff was finished in June,but sat in Joh'burg waiting on paperwork.So basically one year shot till home.

Overall with shipping etc. I saved a little over typical US mounting,about 25%.

If I did flat skins and euro mounts would do it again,but,if shoulder mounting,I'd would ship the raw trophies home.Tanning was excellent on backskins and rug.Shipping was great no damages,I've used the same freight company several times.

I know there is always the argument on here/there;but I think the US mounts are way better in quality.IMO

I have a fellow in Maine doing some shoulder mounts,and his work is fantastic at a fair price.Being in proximity to New York City drives up the costs here.
