No not LSU.

Three of us made a hog hunt yesterday and killed nine. No big tuskers but got some good meat. I shot the first one at about 10 ft. The second one was trotting in the marsh and I nailed him at about 120 yards. Both were shot with my 458 Lott with iron sights. All in all a good hunt.

Lookin' good, Mike. We've been doing a little hog hunting on this side of the marsh too. I have kind of slacked off with pictures, but you've inspired me to snap a few next time.

I just wish it would cool off a little and kill some of these black gnats! It's 76 degrees today and isn't feeling much like January.

Thanks for putting up the pics.

Kenati,

It was nice weather Saturday, but way too hot now. Mid-seventies this weekend, going to the range instead of hunting.

700 Nitro,

The stainless steel barrelled action is from MRC. AHR did the metal work, coating, and installed the McMilan Supergade stock. And yes being left handed limits my choices.

Nice work, Mike! Congrats! I too used my .458 Lott on hogs back when I lived in Florida, and it is good hog medicine! beer

A 500 Grain bullet at 2200 FPS is pretty good medicine for hogs and anything else that walks on the face of the earth.

The Lott is a good round. The rifle weighs 9.0 pounds on a digital scale with no ammo. Felt recoil is not bad at all, it is actually quite easy on the shoulder. I think the McMilan stock has a lot to do with that.

And here I've been kidded about using my Browning BLR (great for my left-handedness) in .450 Marlin. Of course, I'm seating the 400gr bullets way out and loading pretty hot to get maximum effect on the piggies. Big Grin
Oh, no piggies in Colorado. Been hunting them in Texas and Oklahoma.
