Larry, how's this look for working those islands and river banks down your way?

For an all purpose go anywhere vehicle checkout a UniMog.A S Calif repair shop owner located a used unimog in N. California that had been used by a local fire dept but only had a bit over 20,000 miles on the odometer so he bought it & planned to install a mercedes diesel for more power & speed. He uses it to go 4x4ing in the San Bernardino mtns and desert with a meter of clearance not much impedes it.Do a google search on unimog

Whitworth,

How about a word or two about that Green Beast. It looks well engineered and purpose built.

Matt, that is pretty much the typical Florida swamp buggy. It's built on a Chevy Suburban chasis. We obviously use them to get to and from stands, but they are great for cruising around in the late morning when you run into stragglers that haven't bedded down yet for the day. They will pretty much go anywhere you point them! Big Grin

Wow!

Do people just build the beasts in the back yard, or are there shops that turn them out? I really like that one in your pics.

There are shops that build them. I don't know if they are pre-built or you commission them, but I will find out.

Gee Whitworth,

I sure wish you had NEVER posted that Florida Swamp Buggy picture. Your post plus Google adds up to massive amounts of Internet time instead of getting ready for hunting this fall. Here's a 'sensible' link for your building project. Heads you in a direction similar to Mike's truck.
