I received a remote for one of the feeders! Feeder goes off the deer rush in! Love to watch the corn vacuums run and crash into each other with a second spin! The pigs have not been coming in when I am there. I hear them down wind, so I suspect they are coming down wind then leaving. Lots of pictures. Sat night before last. The deer were there but left before the spin. A lone buck was walking around doing the tail flap thing. Seen them do that on coyotes and a bobcat. Sort of "there is danger but I see it". A 120 pound boar came walking in from the front. They normally enter from the back right. He had his head down eating corn under the fence, quartering left going away from me. I put it on the left shoulder and sent a 250 grain Game King on the way. He just stood there! Man, I missed! Through another in the chamber but too late, he fell over. The shot centered the left shoulder and exited somewhere around the right ear! There was just a trickle of blood down his face and a dirty red spot on his shoulder. If he had run there would not have been a blood trail. Oh, twelve minutes after the feeder went off.

A surprise success. Still a good pig in my way of looking at it. 250 gr? What caliber gun? Be Well, Packy.

Deer leaving is often a sign pigs are arriving. I am often amazed at how little blood comes out of a pig with exit wounds.

I agree . However , at my place , the deer seem to tolerate the hogs far more than anywhere I have ever seen .

The fat and the shields often stop the external bleeding .

Usually the deer just leave really fast if a pig approaches! If they ease off usually there is no corn left. Maybe its how aggressive the pig is, but sometime a deer won't leave. Seldom do they throw up the "white flag"! The little buck doing the "white flag" wave was really different.
Packy, my go to rifle, 375 Ruger!

Ah 375 Ruger. For pigs I have thoughts from pistols to 223 rifle to 376 Steyr to 458 American to 308.... It is fun just to make that decision. AS usual I would like to live closer to pig hunting. I don't want them to come to the State of Misery. Keep it up guys and Be Well.

Sometimes blood trails from an arrow hit can be scanty, but sometimes-- shocker

A quick quote from Sierra on .375 Sierra bullets 250 game kings - strong suit, great bullet penetration.

"This bullet has an extremely heavy double-tapered jacket and an extremely hard core for absolute control of expansion on heavy game."

Hence a thin bullet channel & exit?
Nice hit on a nice sized hog. Happy hunting.
