Those who've been following my "HELP!" thread know of my frustrations, which were back this morning--same stuff, different morning. Pigs in trap caught on camera last night, I get there this morning and nada. But, I also set the box trap at the other feeder and as I was swapping camera cards I heard them slamming the trap.

So, walked on over and there are 3 shoats in the trap. As I walked up to the pen, one of the shoats squealed and another shoat jumped to its feet about 50' away, so I flip the safety off the Remington 550-1 and pop her. Down and squealing, but not dead. Then another dumb one stands up and starts walking right to left and comes into the clearing, so I pop him too--and he's off headed out on their usual trail to the west. I go put one in the ear of the first one I knocked down, then do the 3 in the trap. Go check the exit path of the one that left, and find small blood sign. A little farther find this--

Another 10' or so I find him-#5

Total take for this morning was 3 in the trap and two shot for being stupid. Stupid or not, all are good eating size, and have new homes in folks' freezers and destined for smokers I'm sure. My pay--jar of fresh relish and jar of garlic dill pickles--home canned.

I love the pay! Looks like all from the same litter possibly.

Went back to the ranch with the big boy that the rancher is begging me to kill tonight. He wind was right and he showed up about 11 PM, fresh from his mud bath in the upper tank. Caught a load of #4 Buck in the head at 14 yds and it was lights out.

58" from snout to scrotum, 254 lbs on the scale.

This is the game cam pic as he hit the dirt.

Here's a closer view-
