A wild hog is almost all head and guts. If they are quartering to me I hate to take the shot because the bullet will inevitably course through the guts after working it's havoc on the vitals....

There ain't no smell worse than a gut shot hog...

LDHunter, you are sooooo right. There really isn't much in this world that smells worse. I will often wait until the hog is quartering away from me before I squeeze the trigger. It's fortunate that they move around a lot and often offer a variety of shots.
