I've never got any bacon off of a wild hog, they aren't fat enough. On domestic hogs it depends on the breed of hog.

Aloha Blaser,

Is that dressed weight or on the hoof?

If the pig is healthy and fat a pig that size should yield 20-30# at least possibly more.

Here's some boar bacon right out of the smoker cooling down before i chilled and sliced it up.

Here's some bacon strips I made



And the almost finished product LOL!!!



These are strips I made from the ham of the hog and cured them just like I do my bacon. I like to experiment and see how things turn out. I liked it a lot and do it from time to time if we get a nice fat hog.
