Left straight after work with a friend to see if we could get on a hog at a new lease he got on. Got to the place and put up the Elusive Wildlife Kill light under the feeder and got in the blind about 7:20pm. Around 11:00 we start hearing brush breaking but we weren't seeing anything under the kill light. Turns out the hogs could see something about the green light that they did not like and wouldn't come in. 11:15pm spotted a big sow with the Foxpro Fire Eye and my friend drops her with the .257 Weatherby. Pretty impressive caliber for Texas...seems like everything drops with it.  No estimate on weight....but we ended up not trying to lift her on to the tailgate and ran a ratchet strap through her hind legs to move her "Let me start off with two words: Made in America" | ||

You over-killed that one with the 257 Weatherby. Just look at how over-dead it is.  Nice shooting.

Thanks for the comments guys My friend is addicted to the .257W...I am betting this year the .300 win mag and other rifles are left in the safe for that one to hunt again. "Let me start off with two words: Made in America" | |||

Thanks Bobby! I'm glad my friend was able to get on a good sized pig...usually he wants me to shoot the hogs since I really enjoy testing calibers and different bullet types on them. Here is another photo so you can see the size compared to a human lol. But I like the first photo I posted because you can see the gut and width of this sow. She was good sized! I am thinking that she was at least 250-300. They always seem larger once you try and move them. I am hoping in the next few weeks I will get a smaller one with the m1 garand for the bbq grill.
