One taken last night .....

Lots of pigs on the maize baits at the moment. Weather has turned cold and they are feeding hard!

Our deer season is now over and my feeders are set for 8:30 pm. In a month or so a lot of the neighbors feeders will be empty. All three of mine are lite up again! Now if the pigs started showing up. Seems the cute white gal and her sounder are now MIA. Good shooting on your part. I have a very similar scale! Ha Ha

The next few months become the most productive pig hunting for me. As you say, most of the other game feeders run out and the pigs get concentrated to the ones that are still throwing. With the colder weather, their caloric needs also become greater, so they get more active and with less hunting pressure they get less nocturnal.

I have a thermal, so one tactic I use is to corn the ranch roads in some strategic places that I can observe from a distance. I'll spend the evening traveling between the areas looking for a sounder, then make a stalk to shooting distance.

I succeeded in getting 59 pigs last year. I'm already at 2 for 2024, hoping to break 60.

Nice strategy, GS. I have yet to see one alive, but know there are around as I see a lot of roadkill.
