I use 7.63x39, 7mm-08, and 30-06. The longest tracking job so far was 30 yards (bad hit). Granted my shots in east Texas river bottom is 50 - 70 yards, but normally they drop where they are hit. I shoot them behind the ear and they normally don't even make a sound. DSC Life Member NRA Life Member

Actually, I know a couple guys who have killed that many in a single morning. Of course, it did involve a helo... I meant to say, prolly a hundred more than anyone you know, not just a hundred. I did not want to brag about all the hogs that I kill with my gamo air rifle each year at long range, but you twisted my arm.

Any that you kill under 100 yards with that Gamo should not count. That's just too easy... Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

Forget the helo... If all ya gotta kill is a hundred or so, I'll lend you my beanie copter..... Bet you walked up hill 13 mile in the snow, on your hands, so they wouldn't hear your footsteps. Sounds to me like you got your GAM(e)O(n) GWB

I like to get on my belly and crawl backwards, that way if they see me they think I am leaving I use the belted magnum pellets because I learned early "if it dont say mag, your just wounding them no matter how dead they are"

Funny line, I like it. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

rem700-3 Sir, I know it begs the question and if you want to keep it to yourself, I'll understand, but when I'm doin the crawfish belly crawl over rocks and cacuts, tryin' to convince a an ol' brusier that I'm departing, I typically have a rear view mirror attatched to the side of my chapeau. That way I can tell when I'm close enoug to apply the brite smile and grin them pigs to death. Do you use any visual aids. GWB PS, I had to wonder about your first couple of posts but after the last one I,m sure you'll fit in just fine. Are you sure you don't know my friend Kevin from Ireland, his favorite saying is "a lie, well told, is as good as the truth any day! GWB

Rem 700-3 and Geedubya- Please STOP....at least momentarily...because my side is splitting from the laughter... I am just thankful I put my iced te down before reading that last post there, GWB. Otherwise, I'd have been cleaning sweet tea from the keyboard -- and that is not a pleasant job. Now, I don't know if Rem 700-3 is up to the art of grinning them to death because I hear hogs in his part of the world have a different demeanor. But if he'd use that mirror to Annie Oakley them with that Gamo while belly-crawling backwards, it would make things more challenging for certain. Keep in mind, though, that GWB's techniques are not suitable for everyone and in fact can be quite dangerous for one's health. I seem to recall a certain raccoon that he drank to death and a local exotic that was harvested with a truck and a chain saw... Of course I use rear-view mirrors, I perfected this technique after watching CARS. That MATER is a pro! I aint tried the ANNIE OAKLEY cause my gamo aint got sights and it dont work with the eye relief on my scope. I dont think grinnin is the way to go round here, you know different techniques in different areas!!!!! I dont believe that I have met Kevin but I would buy him a beer if the opportunity arose!

rem-700-3 I totally understand local custom. However, a word to the wise. It really helps to have teeth (even if you need to buy some "bubba" dentures) on which to apply "brite smile" or "dazzle",before tryin' to grin a boar coon, bar, or pig into submission, much less into a coronary. Being from Al, you prolly know better than tryin' to grin a 'possum outta a tree! Last time I tried, after about a week of solid face time, my jaws started gettin' sore. No job for a tenderfoot. Of the "gangsta rapper" variety? Do those work? I would think the reflection of the gold plating would scare them off, but maybe it actually attracts them.......hmmmm.......you might actually be on to something. Well, I have tried the grille of the K2500 variety and can confirm it works, but was thinking of your method of grinning them to death. Surely the grillz will enhance that technique? Report back, with pictures please. NB -- if I had used correct spelling grille vs grillz I woudl have avoided confusion with the post-hunt grill. Hmmm. ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story

I'll be going to my lease October, 9. My daughter-in-law works for a dentist. I'll see I can't have some "grill" work done between now and then and report on my return as to whether that "magnum" smile kills them any deader. Have your shades ready. GWB
