Our friends from South Africa had a small gap between DSC and their next show. So, we put together a plan to squeeze in some pig hunting at my Texas hill country lease. We only had 1 full day, with a partial travel day on each end. It was tough going, with the hill country in a drought, the pressure from deer season and some very cold weather. The weather got to the low 20's at night. We pulled all the stops, with daytime stalking through the thick brush for sleeping pigs, hunting at feeders/blinds and night spot/stalk. We bumped 2 in the thick brush on our first hunt, but no safe shot with the .45-70. We eventually closed the deal on the last night after spending 4 hours in a blind. 10 more minutes... 10 more minutes...
