Gotcha Jeff....we struggle with the same thing in our hay fields and our good friends fight an endless battle in their rice fields.

Sullivan:

Why don't you kiss my ass? The hogs are here, whether I breed some or not.

BTW, if you're around the NE Texas area and want to come by and call me a son of a bitch, I'll be glad to discuss it with you in person.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

First of all, I did not call YOU a SOB. I said that I would like to catch a SOB turning out hogs close to my place. I did call you a dumbass, irresponsible, and ignorant. I will add hypocritical. Anyone wanting to "improve the genetic mix" and yet try to trap and kill them like you say you do is talking out of both sides of his head. Instead of breeding them, why don't you just concentrate your efforts of hunting and trapping. Your neighbors would surely appreciate it alot more.

Trying to improve the hunting quality of the local feral hogs is not being hypocritcal. Just goes to show how little you know about hogs, hog hunting, or most anything else, I imagine. I dunno where your place is, but if you want to tell me, I'll be sure to drop some extra piggies by for your pleasure. Wink Moron.

If you'd read the whole thread, assuming your attention span is that long, you'd have read that one of my neighbors traps over 200 a year and can't tell a difference, so the few I trap, and the 50 to 100 we kill on my place per year is not going to affect the population trends, nor is anything else unless they allow poisoning, which isn't likely to happen soon if ever. Certainly your blowhard bullshit isn't going to stop the hogs from doing what comes naturally.

My "blowhard bullshit" may not stop hogs, but evidently neither does a hog breeding KEYBOARD COMMANDO.

Whitworth:

I no longer have a hog problem, I'm going to trap all my excess hogs, and drop them off at Sullivan's place, if he has one. Big Grin Of course, I'd have them certified pseudorabies and brucellosis free first in order to be sure all the hogs in Texas follow the regs. Big Grin He doesn't have to thank me, he can just send me a share of his commercial hog hunt operations profits.

If you're ever in this area, drop by and we'll shoot something, if only the bull.

once again some one gets wound up an starts calling names,,, as my handle should imply there is nothing that I like to hunt better than hogs,,, but as a land owner they have added a whole new cost of production to farming,, to the extent that many down here are fencing wildlife out of there fields just to protect them from hogs..30 years ago the deer were the problem but they wre sure easier to protect against even if it took hiring a hand to ride the fields every night.. but hogs they make us wish for the deer problem again.. plus more income from the deer hunting. now with the influx of non resident land owners high fencing and growing deer we can again grow crops in some fields that we had given up on. If they just hadent driven up the price of land quite so high..KKH
