I haven't been hunting because it is so hot! The first picture is of a12 yr. boy and his first stick. He brought his two dogs with him and his father to hunt.

The next picture is last night. It was so hot I didn't take the dogs because the last time I took the dogs Lucy was wobbling by the time I found her. I guess she caught and killed her on pig because she was bloody but there was no cuts on her.Last night I just took the NV and my hunting partner who is leaving for college Monday.I am going to be lost without him because he knew how to collar dogs and helped when I needed to sew.I imagine I will be taking some new people hunting with dogs( if the drouth hasn't killed them all) when he comes home from school. He told his dad that he "would be the second one to know when he was coming home".We located a boar leaving an old wheat field and started after him. WE didn't catch him before he crossed the the county road. When we got back to the field we saw another one on the downside of a hill that we couldn't see from our first vantage point. We started out after him and walked to within 50 yds and Talon laid him down.I would have loved to have caught him with the dogs but it was just too hot. When we left the farm at 5 am the thermometer said 85 degrees. Sorry I didn't get better pictures but I forgot to take my camera with me.(see what you young guys have to look forward to when you get old) I didn' t hear a snake rattling the last time I went and the young guys were laughing at me.
