Good Job. Officer Birdwell at CSPD and I were talking about you the other day. Well done. The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends. I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Love the replies in the comments section. It just goes to reinforce my opinion that most of America have morphed into a bunch of dumb ass know nothing city bred Bambi hugging idiots. Kind of like this: "why not just go to Sams Club and get a case of baby back ribs; then play a few rounds of paintball with your kids on the lawn." "Granted that these animals are introduced, and can be a nuisance (to humans, that is -- humans tend to be a lot more of a nuisance to wildlife than vice versa), there is something unsettling -- deeply creepy, even -- about the unalloyed joy some take in using high-powered firearms and other advanced kinds of gear to shoot something that can't shoot back." "This is pure satanism. Anyone who does this is evil and will go to hell." "How pathetic. If they really want a challenge, they should hunt in an area with landmines to make things a bit more even and challenging Or better yet join the military and hunt some bad guys like real men!" "What a bunch of wanna-be losers." "Wonder how many of these rambo wanna-bes were draft dodgers like nugent when they had the chance to hunt something that might shoot back?" "As an animal lover, I think these "hunters" are losers and worse." "Maybe we should stalk the commandos at night with our night vision goggles. See how they like that!" "Absolutely. If these guys were being hunted with night googles and long-range AK rifles they wouldn't think it was so much fun." "What a bunch of sadistic cowards! The only respectable hunter is one who goes after a bear with a knife. There is no honor in murdering defenseless animal. If they like to play guns and kill for a hobby, why not join the army and be useful for once." "Cowards. Not one of these pretend-commandos has an ounce of guts. Thermal scopes and semi-automatic weapons? And these guys are such clumsy shots, such clowns, that they have to shoot a given animal five times, even with $40,000 of gear? Yeah, real commandos. Real men. "As for Ted Nugent: I hope he is eating every single pig he kills. Every last one. That's 50 pigs a year, one a week. I wouldn't cry too hard if Nugent shortened his life eating his victims: it would be poetic justice." "The only fat-bellied stupid animals here are the hunters, not the pigs." I hunt, not to kill, but in order not to have played golf.... DRSS

It's worth skimming all the posts in the blog - a lo of them are sensible and even some of the posts from clearly non-hunters are reasonable. I think one of the most interesting ones pointed out that the shot pigs can't be given to food banks. That is truly stupid. Maybe trapping them is the answer so that they can then be "properly" slaughtered and the food used to feed people. How about some of the Texans on this list calling their state reps? Or the food bank organizations such as churches should do that also and get those regs changed. Oxon

Unless the weather up there controls their numbers, I'll bet that position of Nebraska and Kansas won't last long. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Anybody know how far north feral hogs can thrive? Boar certainly do well in very cold areas but what about the wild hog? Oxon

Just learned today that someone hauled a big load of Texas hogs up to Pueblo Reservoir area & turned 'em loose. Might be some hog huntin around this area before long. I'll need to check things out and get out there. Am sure they'd be varmints same as coyotes. Further info if/when I learn of it, or anyone else knows something further, please post it. We have an entire population of folks who suffer from delusion and exist in an alternate reality. Very unfortunate. "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid."
