I'm heading down to Savannah for my honeymoon in late June. I was thinking I should treat myself to a boar hunt. Does anyone know of a guide somewhat close to Savannah? I would just be looking for a day hunt.

Whitworth,
Looking forward to any guides you might have to recommend.

I found this place that is actually in SC but it is an hour drive from Savannah. http://www.bostick-plantation.com/index.php
We are driving down from MI to GA so I would have to hit the place on our way back to MI. Does anyone have any experience with this outfit?

Millwood Hunting Lodge

Broughton Island Boars

A couple in South Carolina.....

Gohagan's Guide Service
(877) 625-2987

Carolina Buck and Boar

I haven't hunted with any of these outfitters, so I can't vouch for them. Hope this helps. Keep us posted!

Whitworth,
Thank you very much for the list of guides.
I'll go through the list and figure out what looks like it would work out the best. Gohagan's Guide Service looks like they have taken some monster hogs in their photo section.

The complicated part is the logistics of the whole hunt. I'll have to have the outfitter ship me the meat/ head trophy when I return to MI or I'll have to keep it all in a cooler with ice for the duration of our trip. Kind of leery about the latter.

Not a problem, glad to help.

Leave the head with a local taxidermist and have a local game butcher process the meat and ship it to you. That would probably cause the least amount of pain. Just a suggestion!
