Went out last night to commission a new rifle. 416 Ruger! Right before the feeder went off a pig came into the feeder pen. Of coarse feeder went of and pig ran. To my surprise it came right back. So I thumped it! Look good, sounded good but no pig, I did hear it hit brush and thrash about in it. Looked and a trail of lung bits left the pen. This place is very brushy so I did not look long. Went back this morning with my new dog, he did not help and found her. To my surprise she only had three legs! Now I am thinking that the jawless pig was only a couple of miles away. Could be that someone in the middle of the two places set snares and did not check em. Really like the Alaskan in 416 ruger, might have to sell the Rigby!

Always good to see a dead hog. I also like the photo. "For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind..." Hosea 8:7

Good stuff. From time to time I will use the 35 Whelen, 376 Steyr, 9.3 x 74R, 375 H&H and a 45-70. I do like thumping them. Should one have to track, two leaky holes help insure success. ya! GWB
