Total game taken;
8 Javalina
3 Rio Grande Turkeys (3 hunters)

As you can see we got in a lot of shooting----Randall was great and his stories made the time go way to fast! Can't wait to go back!

Not much to tell other than it was a great hunt and we got in a lot of shooting!
I have wanted to hunt javalina for over 40 yrs. after reading an article in a hunting rag! Finally did after reading Randalls posts----glad I did, had a great time!
Sorry-NO PICTURES-I don't have a digital camera and even if I did I wouldn't know how to post them! I am "COMPUTER CHALLENGED"

Whit,
I took about 40 Pics. with a 35mm camera-I will be picking them up tomorrow. Maybe my wife knows how to scan and post them, unfortunately I don't.
I did my shooting with a couple of classics;

#1 Win. M43 in .218 BEE
#2 Marlin M62 in .256 Win. Mag.

Both did the job really well.

Some other calibers used by the other hunters were .44 Mag. revolver, 12 ga. slug, .270 Win. (loaded down), .222, 35 Rem. and a compound bow. My calibers and the .44 and .270 (my brothers choices) were reloads, the others were factory. The reloads did a much better job due to the loads were matched to the game.
The trip may sound like it was a little boring----it wasn't, it is just that everything went really smooth which make for less to tell about!
The only disapointment was I didn't shoot a rattler much less see one-I wanted a shin for my mantle.

Hipshoot, Many, Many Thanks for the kind words on the hunt. beer

The group that Hipshoot was with was really a great group of hunters, and it was a pleasure to help them get their animals.

Having folks in camp that are really interested in what their loads and equipment will do under field conditions is very refreshing.

The fact that Hipshoot and his group were using calibers such as the 218, 256WM., 222 Rem., and 35 Rem., was really enjoyable.

Being able to drive around and discuss the merits of such writers as Elmer Keith and Finn Aagard and others was also a breath of fresh air.

The hunts I do are not for everyone, and when I get a group like Hipshoot and the folks that came with him, it is to be treasured.

I have some pictures and as sonn as I get them developed and can figure out how to post them I will.

Randall,
As I said hunting with you was a pleasure!
As you saw, not all New Yorkers take the subway to work ! New York has a GREAT variety of terrain as well as game animals ! Most people think that if you are from New York you are a CITY SLICKER----WRONG-WRONG-WRONG !
I am from Long Island and farm country is not very far away, not only that the biggest racks on the whitetails come from L.I. as well as having great waterfowl hunting. Bass and trout are very abundant and we have excellant salt water fishing----Montauk is called the MECCA of saltwater fishing!
Maybe one day you will be able to visit here !

Thanx again !

Sounds like a great time was had by all. From all I have read on this forum, Crazyhorse Consultants sound like Top Shelf Outfitters. Did they cook up some of their famous mouth watering javelina recipes?
Javelina hunting is one of my favorite hunts here in Arizona.
Thanks for sharing your hunting experience with Crazyhorse Consultants. I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Kind regards,
Mary

Rojovin,
I hail from Lake Grove and can recommend Randall "WHOLE HARTEDLY" not a fancy hunt by any means-but a chance to get away, shoot some game, have a great time and NOT spend a lot of money!
If you are interested, I might be interested to do a repeat next spring !

P.S On most hunting or fishing sites my screen name is HIPSHOT-----this site said there was one already----so I had to go with HIPSHOOT!
