I read where Live Oak weighs all his pig kills---I don't do that--too much trouble. Just do a body count. Count for 2021 was 75. Got to do better though in 2022

Either works.

I hardly ever weighed a pig I shot.

But I find it interesting to know

I only weight the surprising large type and only perhaps 5 or 6 have been over 300 lbs. Largest sow 304 lbs on 27 Mar 2021, boar 316 lbs 18 Mar 2020

2019 count was 179, 2020 was 43, 2021 only 11 with the last one shot on 08 July 2021.

We pushed on them pretty hard for about 18 months and it seemed to hold they at bay in the swamp but just now I have a sounder of 11 that I suspect I'll trap catch in the next day or two.

If they appear to be 185 or bigger, I will weigh them. More so I have a frame of reference for what a pig really weighs.

So many people tell me about the 300 lb pigs they shoot all the time. Show me one. I have shot hundreds of them with just one 300+ lb pig to show for it.

For what it's worth, 185 pig is a big damn pig.

FWIW, I Wasn't referring to you when I said "Show me a 300lb pig". I was talking about the yahoos in TX that brag about the "three or four hundred pounder my cousin kilt!"

I think there are lots of 300 pounders running around, but I don’t think I’ve ever shot one, maybe close but I don’t think over 300. I just shoot whatever pigs I run across regardless of size. Last weekend I saw four large black hogs under a neighbors feeder, one was a lot bigger than the rest and I would bet it weighed well over 300 pounds. If I see it on my side of the fence I’ll find out how big it is Wink
