The Feb 2019 issue of Fur Fish Game has a good article on hunting Javelina in Knox County, Texas and even gives the name of a ranch that allow free-range hunting. http://rangercreekranch.com/ For those not familiar with the area, Knox County is southwest of Wichita Falls and due south of Quanah. https://www.google.com/maps/pl...734243!4d-99.8124935 If you live in north Texas or OK, that is much closer than travelling into south Texas to hunt Javelina. The author even discusses how to cook them. NRA Life Benefactor Member, DRSS, DWWC, Whittington Center,Android Reloading Ballistics App at http://www.xplat.net/

We had a lease outside of Olney for years that had a few javelina but when the feral hogs arrived, the javelina's disappeared. Karl Evans

The North Texas javelina population reportedly comes from a stocking on the Waggoner Ranch in Wilbarger County a number of years ago. I killed one in Kent County about 25 years ago before there was any closed season on them, but that was the only one I saw in decades of hunting that area.
